Four generations of hospitality in Innsbruck.
The Leipziger Hof opens on Leipziger Platz in Innsbruck. Even back then, hospitality, personalised service and the vision of a hotel built to last were the hallmarks of the establishment.
Mathilde and Josef Zach Sr. – the grandparents of the current host, Andreas Perger – took over the Leipziger Hof and laid the foundations for the development of the family business.
Karl and Hannelore Perger continued to run the Leipziger Hof, gradually transforming it into a modern city hotel. Additional guest rooms were added, the building underwent extensive modernisation, and it was classified as a 4-star hotel. The original inn evolved into what is now the Defreggerstube restaurant.
The next phase of development began with Petra and Andreas Perger. In the years that followed, projects included the panoramic sauna, extensively refurbished rooms, the Basic Hotel Innsbruck, the Leipziger Hof apartment block, and further investments in comfort and quality.
Victoria Perger joins the family business as an assistant to the management. Shortly thereafter, the historic building on Marktgraben is acquired, housing the Basic Apartments Downtown and the first citylocker.store.
2024 sees Victoria’s marriage to Marco Perger—a passionate restaurateur who is already actively involved in the business.
Today, IBK Hotels brings together seven establishments under one roof – including hotels, apartments, restaurants and other services, all centrally located in Innsbruck. With the complete refurbishment of the Leipziger Hof, new suites, air-conditioning installed in the apartment blocks and a second citylocker.store at the main railway station, the company’s history is constantly being written.
In 2026, the fifth generation will be born … the story continues.

citylocker.store is a secure, 24-hour luggage storage facility in the heart of Innsbruck’s Old Town and opposite the main railway station on Raiffeisenplatz. The lockers can be accessed via two entrances at Marktgraben 13 and Schlossergasse 17.
Between 8.00 pm and 7.00 am, access is via credit or debit card. The locations are under CCTV surveillance and secured by an alarm system, and can be used independently of any hotel booking – ideal for early arrivals, late departures or for a carefree day in Innsbruck.

The history of the Leipziger Hof began in 1906 on Leipziger Platz in Innsbruck. In 1965, the Zach family took over the hotel. From 1974 onwards, Karl and Hannelore Perger developed the business into what is now the Hotel Leipziger Hof.
Today, the Perger family is the fourth generation to run the business, bringing together hotels, apartments, restaurants and other services in Innsbruck under one roof.
